Week 7

This week, we had the opportunity to present our PODs introductory presentations. We did our presentation on effects of video games on school-aged children, and I thought it went over very well. It was really interesting to see everyone else’s presentations, and I felt like I had learned alot, even if it was just an introduction to topics.  

We talked about the use of Canva for a teacher, and I really enjoyed that. Canva is my favourite tool, and I find myself often using my mom’s free teacher account, so I am glad that I’ll be able to have free use for it soon! 

We also learned about Classroom Screen. I thought it was a good source to use, especially when made aesthetically pleasing. There were lots of good tools on it such as noise volume, timers, and the ability to add any note for students to see and keep on track.  

Finally, we focused on SMAR (Substitution, Modification, Augmentation, Redefinition). We were in breakout groups and did an activity where we applied SMAR to a lesson, and I thought it was very helpful to know, and keep in mind when teaching and planning lessons.
