Week 1 & Week 2

The first 2 weeks of EDCI 336 were a whirlwind. We learned so many new technology tools that I have never used before, testing my skills to their max. I thought I was pretty good with technology, but it turns out I am more behind than I think I am.

Creating a Blog

I thought the process to create a blog to be a bit overwhelming at first, but once I had figured it out, the process felt easy and simple. However, when it came to customizing and editing the process, it got difficult. During our break between classes, myself alongside other peers spent a lot of time playing around on the website creator together, figuring out how to change text, colours, and make our webpage our own, and eventually became easy to figure out.

Open Inquiry

I really struggled with what I wanted to do for my free inquiry project. I spent a lot of time going back and forth between numerous topics, not really finding something that I was super passionate about that no one else had done. However, I decided to focus on fitness and my health for this semester, trying to get back into a sport I used to love.

Class Resources

We learned about Padlet, and how to implement it in our classroom. I think it would be a good resource for middle years, since it allows students to answer responses with technology, while being anonymous. We also learned about privacy within the classroom.
