Week 5
We had a guest speaker, who is a Digital Literacy Coordinator for SD62. We learned about many different educational resources that teachers in the district use, including seeing the district technology website. We learned which educational technology was available in all schools, such as iPads and Chromebooks. One thing that really shocked me is when she said that all colour printing had to be done at the district office. I really thought I was hearing things when she said that and had to double check with a few classmates to make sure I heard that right.
She talked about Live It Earth, which is a resource I really like. In Link2Practice, my host teacher had shown us this resource, and it really intrigued me. I did a project on Indigenous education resources for grade 3, which Live It Earth played a large role in. It has many different education resources for teachers and students, which is useful for educators. There are also many different resources covering Indigenous Education, such as the Salmon Cycle, which is something that is important for me to implement into my classroom.
